About Best Retirement Investment
Hi, I'm Jaynous Kool, the founder of Best Retirement Investment.
I've invested in precious metals for more than ten years. I held through bull runs, sharp corrections and long quiet stretches when nothing much happened. I'm also an angel investor in early-stage startups. That side of my investing has taught me a lot about risk: some bets pay off, many don't, and money you need for retirement shouldn't ride on any single one.
I started this site because good retirement information is hard to find. Many pages about gold IRAs are really sales pitches, and many pages about retirement planning skip the risks. I wanted one place that explains the options in plain English, including the downsides.

How I think about retirement money
Gold and silver can be a useful part of a retirement plan, but they shouldn't be the whole plan. They pay no income, cost money to store, and can go years without gaining value. Most people are better served by a mix of stocks, bonds and cash, with a small share in precious metals for some. Every investment carries risk, and nothing on this site is a promise of returns.
How the articles are made
Every article is researched from primary sources, like IRS publications and warnings from US regulators such as the SEC, FINRA and the CFTC, and those sources are linked on the page. I work with a small editorial team on research and writing, and I review each article before it goes live. We update pages when rules or numbers change. You can read more in our Editorial Policy.
